TripIt Pro Travel Guidance

Modified on Tue, Feb 4 at 1:26 PM

Travel planning is now easier with TripIt Pro Travel Guidance.

International travel rules are constantly changing; from new visa requirements to evolving health protocols. TripIt Pro Travel Guidance delivers the essential information you need from within the TripIt app.

You’ll see the following information for each of your destination countries:

  • Travel possibility – Whether the destination country is open to travel.
  • Visa and Documentation – Information on different types of visas and other documentation you might need to enter a country. This is based on your nationality, as derived from the passport you have stored in Travel Documents. If you do not have a passport in Travel Documents, we consider the country of your home city.
  • Health Information – Requirements for vaccination and health insurance for entering a country. For the first or only country in your international trip, this is based on your home country as the origin. If you will be visiting multiple countries in your international trip, the origin is determined by the country you were in prior according to your itinerary.
  • International Travel Tools – Embassy information, currency exchange rates, socket and plug requirements, tipping advice, and more.

In addition to the destination country, information provided is customized according to your home country, nationality, and travel dates and duration.

  • Home country is determined based on the home city in your profile.
  • Nationality is determined by the passport stored in Travel Documents.
  • If no passport is saved, we consider the home country.
  • If multiple passports are saved, we select one.

Travel Guidance is available for upcoming international trips.

  1. Open the TripIt app.
  2. Select an upcoming trip.
  3. In Android, tap the guidebook button in the lower right. In iOS, tap the overflow menu in the top right.
  4. Select ‘Travel Guidance’.

Travel Guidance is also available in the Pro tab in the app.

Search by country, travel dates, and more. This means you can view the information you need before you even confirm your trip. Or if you travel with multiple passports, you can look up information for each.

  1. Open the TripIt app.
  2. Tap the Pro tab.
  3. Select ‘Travel Guidance’.
  4. Enter the country you are planning to visit, country you are traveling from, travel dates, and nationality.

Data for travel possibility, Visa and Documentation, and Health Information comes from our partner Riskline and data for International Travel Tools comes from our partner Basetrip.
