Flight Layovers

Modified on Wed, Apr 5, 2023 at 2:43 AM

A layover is the time between two connecting flights.

The airline industry standard rule for determining a connection time to display is less than four hours for domestic flights and less than 24 hours for international flights (from one country/region to another). Anything longer is considered a stopover and will not display the layover time in TripIt.

Please note:

  • Currently, there is not an option to manually add or edit the layover field.
  • Currently on the Web, a layover will only display for flights with the same confirmation number.
