Weather display

Modified on Fri, Jul 26 at 1:59 AM

Weather forecasts can now be viewed from the TripIt app and website.

Real-time weather forecasts will be displayed with other travel details within 10 days of the current date. Historical weather data will be shown for your destination more than 10 days out. TripIt uses IBM technology to provide AI-derived insights from The Weather Channel to help travelers make more informed choices before and during their trips. Be sure your Android or iOS device is updated to the latest version of TripIt.

  • Within ten days of your travel plan, you'll see forecasted high and low temperatures for that day, plus an icon that indicates the weather conditions, such as cloudy, thunderstorms, windy, etc.

  • More than ten days out, your travel plan will show historical averages for the high and low temperature. Note that historical average weather data is not the same as a weather forecast, which can vary greatly from  historical conditions.

  • Weather will display in Fahrenheit or Celsius based on your TripIt Settings. If this needs to be updated, please view our help page for instructions.

  • Weather forecasts on our mobile apps are currently available for lodging, restaurants, car rentals and activities with an address/location.
  • Weather is not displayed for past trips.

 For Pro users:

  • Pro check-in emails will include a 5-hour weather forecast for the departure location and a 5-day weather forecast for the arrival location.

  • Pro departure summary emails include a 5-day weather forecast for the arrival location.

Please note, weather is not yet offered in the new web experience but will still be available as usual by switching back to the Legacy site. You can switch back by clicking the ‘New website’ toggle in the upper right-hand corner of any page. We plan to keep adding to the new web experience, so you’ll see regular updates over time.
