TripIt Pro Risk Alerts notifies you when a potential disruption may impact your trip.

If something unexpected should occur (like an airline strike, inclement weather, communications outage, etc.) TripIt Pro Risk Alerts will keep you informed. You'll receive a risk alert as a push notification so you can modify your itinerary accordingly and still enjoy your trip.

What plans will be monitored?

We're starting with flight plans. TripIt Pro Risk Alerts will monitor incidents that affect airports and airlines in your itinerary, over the dates of your flight. In the future, we hope to expand incident monitoring to other parts of your itinerary like restaurant reservations, meetings, and more.

Examples of travel disruptions monitored by TripIt Pro Risk Alerts:

  • Weather (thunderstorms, snowstorms, tornados, etc.)
  • Political unrest (protests, etc.)
  • Labor action (strikes)
  • Communication and technology outages
  • Airport incidents (runway closures, etc.)

How does it work?

You’ll receive risk alerts as push notifications on your mobile device. Within the app, find them in the 'Alerts' tab, as well as indicators next to the affected travel plan in your trip timeline and with your flight details. When you tap the alert, you’ll be shown more details about the alert, so you can learn more.

How can I turn on/off these alerts?

  1. In the TripIt app, tap the 'Account' tab
  2. Select 'Settings' > 'Notifications' > 'Push Notifications'.
  3. From here, you can toggle on/off 'Risks and Disruptions.
