When you share your trip with someone, you can update their permission at anytime.
For example, if you shared your trip with someone and gave them permission to edit your trip, you can update their permission to view only. You can also remove them from the trip and the trip will be removed from their TripIt account. If you are the trip owner but not traveling, you can update your status from traveler to non-traveler.
In the TripIt website:
You may have noticed we've redesigned our web experience. You may have the option to still access your account from our legacy site so we've included instructions for both.
New web experience
- Select the trip from the Trips page.
- Click 'Manage Sharing'.
- Under the invitee's name, you can update their permission or remove them.
If you are the trip owner and want to update your status from traveler to non-traveler:
- Click 'Edit trip info' (located below the trip title on the Trips page.)
- Check (or uncheck) the 'I am a traveler on this trip' box.
- Click 'Save'.
Legacy site
- Select your trip from the Trips page.
- Click the triangle next to the name you wish to update.
- Select the new designation (Traveler, Viewer, or Planner)
- From here, you can also click 'Remove from Trip'.
In the TripIt app:
- Select the trip from the TripIt app.
- In the 'People' section, tap the name of the invitee then select their new permission.
- You can also remove in the same section.
