Trip sharing in the TripIt app

TripIt offers several options to share your trips with others:

• TripIt app - Share from your device
  
• Private invitation - Send a secure invitation to specific people.
• Social Media - Share on your favorite platforms
• iMessage (iOS) - Send your trip details through Messages. Learn more

• Inner Circle (TripIt Pro) - Automatically share your trip with trusted people. Learn more

Private Invitation

Only you and the people you invite have access to your travel plans. The following permissions are available and can be updated at anytime: 

• Can view
• Can edit
• Can edit and is traveling

Please note: Only people with "edit" and "edit and is traveling permission" can view confirmation numbers, total cost, frequent traveler information and documents.

Here's how:

1. Open your trip.
2. Tap the share icon (Android) /(iOS).
3. Tap Invite (first share option). 
   
4. Enter the email address of the person you want to share your trip with and select their permission (view, edit, or edit/traveling).
5. Tap Send.

Share individual trip plans or an entire itinerary by SMS, email or third party app.

This option is read-only and will not display confirmation numbers, total cost, frequent traveler information and documents. It will also not add the trip to the recipient's TripIt account even if they have one.

Here's how:

1. Open your trip.
2. Tap the share icon for Android/for iOS (top right).
3. Tap Send (second share option). 
4. Select which trip plans you'd like to share.
5. Tap the blue check mark (bottom right).
6. Choose how you'd like to share your travel plans (email, SMS, Slack, WhatsApp, etc.).
