Move travel item to other or new trip

Modified on Fri, 28 Jul 2023 at 01:22 AM

You can easily move individual travel segments (flights, hotel, car, etc.) from one trip itinerary to another or new itinerary.

If you've received confirmation emails from us stating your trip is ready but you do not see them where you expect to, they may be in a pre-existing trip.  TripIt posts trip information by travel date and automatically imports your travel plans into an existing itinerary if the dates overlap (as most trip items with similar dates are additions to an existing trip). It's easy to move, split, unmerge, or separate these plans to a new or to another trip in your account.

Android and iOS apps

  1. Select the plan you want to move.
  2. Tap Screen_Shot_2019-06-11_at_4.40.01_AM.png(top right of Android) or Screen_Shot_2019-06-11_at_4.53.21_AM.png (bottom right of iOS).
  3. Select 'Move Plan' (Android) or 'Move to...' (iOS).
  4. Then move your plan to an existing trip, new trip or Unfiled Items.

Website

We've redesigned our web experience. You may still have the option to access your account from our legacy site so we've included instructions for both.

New web experience:

  1. Click on the plan (in blue text) you wish to move to another existing or to a new itinerary.
  2. Click 'More Options' (top right) then click 'Move Plan'.
  3. Then move your plan to an existing trip or new trip.

Legacy site:

  1. Click 'Move' next to the trip item you wish to move to another existing or to a new itinerary.
  2. Then move your plan to an existing trip or new trip.
