If the wrong times are displayed in your calendar, it's usually due to two reasons:
- You need to update the "Automatically Adjust Time Zones" setting.
- Your travel plans are in the wrong time zone.
Update Automatically adjust time zones.
We've found that it works best for Google calendars to have automatically adjust time zones enabled and for other calendars to have it disabled.
Here's how:
- Click the Profile icon (top right).
- Select Settings.
- Click Calendar Feed.
- Update Display plans in local times.
TripIt app:
- Tap Account (bottom right).
- Tap Settings.
- Select Calendar Sync.
- Update Auto Adjust Time Zones.
Make sure your plans are in the correct time zone.
When a travel plan is added, we use the address field to map he time zone. If the location or time zones are not correct in nearly all cases you can fix the problem by adding at minimum the city and country. If you have it, the street addresses is preferable.
Please note:
- If your Google calendar has automatic adjust time zones enabled, this means your calendar will convert all event times to your current time zone setting. However, as long as you change your calendar's settings when you travel to reflect the local time zone, these items will show up in the correct time slot.
- If you change your calendar feed's settings it may take some time for your calendar app to update its cached feed data.
- You can force your calendar's cache to clear by refreshing your feed's URL. Please view our Refresh your calendar feed help page for instructions. After refreshing, resubscribe to the new URL, wait 15 minutes, and your calendar should be updated.
